For this PhotoVlog I wanted to take you along a hiking adventure I host called #PhotoHike. Each PhotoHike I choose a new location and invite photographer or any looking to get out and enjoy nature to come hike with me. The best part is that it’s totally free!
For this #PhotoHike adventure we’re looking to complete a 10 mile hike through the Big Basin Redwoods State Park. We hiked along the Sunset Trail and the Skyline To The Sea Trail to reach Berry Creek Falls – which featured 3 waterfalls total.. As much as I enjoyed taken in the view of three waterfalls I realized I took more photos of my model friends and my brother Joe then the waterfalls.
I brought along my Nikon D850 for the portraits and the Panasonic GH5 for the video inside my Mindshift Gear BackLight 26L backpack which gave me more enough of space to carry my cameras, lenses, water and snacks comfortably.
The best part of the hike was that it took me out of my natural element of a photography studio. But having taken more photos of my brother and friends then of the natural beauty of the Redwoods State park let me know that you can take the portrait studio photographer out of the studio but you can’t take the portrait out of the photographer.
